Olivia Attwood wasn’t forced to leave I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! after breaking strict Covid protocols, Metro.co.uk understands.
The Love Island star made her jungle debut during Sunday’s episode alongside 80s superstar Boy George, and radio DJ Chris Moyles.
During her brief stint Olivia was tipped as a serious contender to take the crown, however fans were stunned after ITV confirmed she had to exit the show on medical grounds.
A spokesperson said in a statement: ‘As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.
‘Unfortunately the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be a further investigation.’
They added: ‘She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed on the show.’

Although Olivia is yet to address her reasons for leaving, The Sun previously claimed that she had to leave after breaking a ‘strict Covid bubble,’ and if she wanted to continue with the series she would have to ‘endure another week of isolation.’
‘It was felt this would be too much time to spend away from the competition and potentially place her campmates at a disadvantage to her,’ a source shared.
‘Olivia would have been going back in almost halfway through the series, which simply wasn’t fair,’ they added.

After news of Olivia’s exit broke, a statement posted on her social media vowed that she will reveal the ‘truth’ of what happened in the lead-up to her departure.
The message read: ‘To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement, she dreamed of doing I’m A Celeb for years and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).
‘However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short.’
The statement continued: ‘Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it has always.
