Pep Guardiola has claimed ‘nothing I do is enough’ and he will always be seen as a failure in some eyes as he tries to finally bring Champions League glory to Manchester City.
The Spaniard, who won the trophy twice with Barcelona, has found European glory out of reach since becoming City boss in 2016.
However, Guardiola says he feels ‘more than blessed’ with what he has achieved in England as he prepares his side for tonight’s last-16, first leg at RB Leipzig.
‘I would say if my career finished tomorrow I would be more than blessed with what I’ve done at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and here,’ said Guardiola, who has won four Premier Leagues, four League Cups and an FA Cup since moving to Manchester.
‘To do what I’ve done in Europe in such a small amount of time. We want to do our best. In the end destiny is already written.
‘I had the feeling what we have done for many years, whatever happens, or what I do personally, I’m going to fail. Nothing will be enough.’

Having seen a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday damage their Premier League title hopes, City will go into tonight’s tie with illness having ruled out both Kevin de Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte.
Guardiola is expecting Leipzig to prove tough opposition having seen his side lose 2-1 at the German club in last season’s group stages.
‘In the first game we have to try to control emotions and get a good result for the second leg,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Guardiola has brushed off Thierry Henry’s suggestion City are more predictable with Erling Haaland in the team, even though the Norwegian has scored better than a goal a game since signing from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
‘I understand what he wants to say but to be less predictable does not depend on Haaland,’ he said. ‘We need more runners from Kevin, from (Ilkay) Gundogan, from the wingers when we arrive in the final third.
‘But, come on. He has scored 32 goals. We are the team who have scored the most in the Premier League. Always we can do good things, with Erling as well.’
