Nick Knowles and Jeremy Vine risked becoming the grinches who stole Christmas after getting into a row over parking at a festive market in the countryside.
There’s no love lost between the TV stars, who previously got into a heated online spat in 2020 over policing during the Covid pandemic.
Last weekend, they managed to clash over a Christmas fair which Nick, 60, had attended, only for the DIY SOS star to get a parking ticket when he returned to his car.
The presenter fumed on Twitter after being caught by the wardens, writing: ‘Congrats Cirencester & Gloucester cnclls You hold an Xmas fayre to get shoppers into town & when they do & car parks are full you ticket everyone parked on a single yellow on a Sunday whole rows of them!
‘Hell of a way to support local businesses by driving people away.’
Jeremy, 57, spotted the tweet, which featured a photo of Nick’s parking ticket, and commented: ‘Excellent work. Children on foot are the priority, not adults wedging large metal cages into places they don’t fit.’
Firing back at his foe, Nick replied: ‘More city folk telling people in the countryside how to live.’
One follower weighed into the feud, writing: ‘Is this the only contribution Jeremy has?’ prompting Nick to reply: ‘He’s still mad at me for calling him out on misrepresenting a story about police – he hands out criticism daily but gets very nasty when he is criticised It’s kinda sad Gets all personal so has been waiting several years for me to mention a car related story.’
Jeremy took it in his stride and responded with a gif of a woman removing headphones alongside the cheeky caption: ‘I’m sorry honey, were you saying something?’

Cotswold District Councillor Joe Harris defended Nick’s fine and commented amid the row: ‘No one is being penalised for visiting the town – parking is free in all Cirencester car parks on Sundays. This is a ticket for breaking an on-street parking regulations such as yellow lines, no return within 1 hour etc.’
It’s not the first time Nick and Jeremy have traded jabs on social media after they got into a fiery debate in March 2020.
During an episode of his Channel 5 programme The Jeremy Vine Show, the TV presenter said that a former Supreme Court Judge had compared Derbyshire Police using drones to catch those breaking lockdown rules to a ‘police state’.
Nick disputed this and wrote back: ‘Sadly @theJeremyVine loves a police bashing story; nice guy but can’t help himself every time there’s an opportunity.’
Jeremy argued: ‘We were doing the news, Nick — it’s our job. See below. The guy is a former Supreme Court Judge.’
