NFL drama as player quits on field after mid-game walk-off
Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Antonio Brown has sensationally left the team after he walked out of their game against the New York Jets.
Wide receiver Brown, 33, stripped off his jersey and pads, gestured to the crowd and walked back to the locker room midway through the third quarter.
It is believed he was angered by a conversation with a team staff member whilst he was on the sidelines. And after that conversation and walk-off, the Tampa head coach confirmed Brown’s no longer a player with the team.
“He is no longer a Buc,” said Tampa head coach Bruce Arians after the game.
“That is the end of the story, Let’s talk about the guys who went out there and won the game.”
He later told Fox Sports that he twice instructed Brown to enter the game but Brown refused and so Arians told him to “get out.”

The Bucs were trailing 24-10 at the time when Brown walked-off but they eventually triumphed after NFL legend Tom Brady led the team to victory in the final minute.
“We want to see him be at his best and unfortunately it won’t be with our team,” said Brady when asked about Brown.
“We have a lot of friendships that will last. I think everyone should be very compassionate and empathetic toward some very difficult things that are happening.”
Brown had three receptions for 26 yards at the time he left the field. He has 42 catches for 545 yards and four touchdowns in seven games this season.
Last year he helped the Bucs win Super Bowl 55 – but Brown has had a fairly chequered career.
He was booted by the Patriots in 2019 after one game following allegations of sexual miscoduct and threatening text messages.
He was suspended for the first half of the 2020 season after facing assault and burglary charges and was suspended for three games in December for “misrepresenting a Covid-1 9 vaccination certificate.”

I absolutely didn’t expect this reaction of immediate sympathy
