Met Office issues first amber warning for heat as UK bakes in sun
The Times says the Met Office has issued its first ever extreme heat warning as concerns rise for public health due to sweltering heat in parts of the country.
The amber warning, which is similar to those issued when heavy rain or snow is forecast, will be in place for the south of Wales, the West Midlands and the southwest of England until the end of Thursday when temperatures are forecast to drop.
