Israel hits Gaza with airstrikes in retaliation for Hamas incendiary balloons
The Times says Israel launched airstrikes on Hamas in Gaza early on Wednesday morning in retaliation to the deployment of incendiary balloons over the border in the first attacks since last month’s ceasefire.
The Israeli Defence Force said it targeted camps and meeting places in Gaza City and the southern town of Khan Younis and declared it was “ready for all scenarios, including renewed fighting, in the face of continued terrorist acts.”
The reports made by the Israeli army are thus far unverified.
