COVID-19: UK on a ‘knife edge’ as Britons bask in sunnier weather -SAGE scientist
Many are expected to flock to beaches, parks and beer gardens today, as the Bank Holiday is expected to bring the warmest weather of the year so far – with temperatures likely to hit 25C.
But scientists are still urging caution, with one of the country’s top scientists warning the next two weeks are critical for the way out of the pandemic.
Professor Susan Michie, professor of health psychology at University College London and a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), told Sky News: “We’re on a knife-edge.
“We could go either way with this new variant.”
