Boris Johnson makes up for lost time with relaxed travel rules but variant threat remains
The i says Britain’s reopening to the world has taken a big step forwards. From Monday, travellers based in Europe or America who have been double vaccinated will be able to visit most of the UK without having to quarantine on arrival.
There are still billions of people from other countries unable to travel freely to Britain, and an extensive “red list” from which visitors have to enter hotel quarantine. But the intent is clear: travel for tourism, business and family reunion is back on.
