Boris Johnson ready for leadership fight TONIGHT and insists ‘it’s time to draw a line’ as he faces leadership vote
The Sun says BORIS Johnson has insisted he relishes tonight’s do-or-die confidence vote as a chance to silence his Tory rebels once and for all.
The PM faces the fight of his political life this evening as Conservative MPs gear up to decide whether to keep or chuck their leader.
Backbench chief Sir Graham Brady announced this morning that more than 54 Conservative MPs have submitted no confidence letters.
It triggers a dramatic secret ballot between 6 and 8pm later this evening in which Tory MPs will decide Mr Johnson’s fate.
The PM today vowed to fight tooth and nail to squash the revolt and stay in Downing Street and “draw a line” under recent woes.
