Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan may have become a household name due to the roaring success of the teen drama, however she’s now shared a specific downfall of her newfound fame.
The Canadian actress, 21, stars as Devi Vishwakumar in the Netflix series, which recently wrapped up after four seasons.
Celebrated by both critics and audiences alike, the series followed the teenager in the wake of her father’s death, as she also tried to balance her competing interests of schoolwork and boys.
The star has now said that while she understands the increased attention that appearing on screen comes with, she has one requests for people when they see her in public.
‘I can’t stand the creepy stalker pics that people take while I’m eating. Let me eat in peace please,’ she shared on Twitter this week.
‘I swear I lose my appetite so fast it’s not even funny.

‘Yes blah blah blah this is what fame brings but like lemme just eat cmon now. I don’t wanna be all insecure about the food baby.’
She later added that she was ‘always down for a photo’ and explained that if she ever said no to a fan, there was ‘always a legit reason’.
‘I just never want someone to feel like I’m being mean to them but I also wanna respect myself?? Idk mannn.’
Last year Maitreyi spoke about the series coming to an end, telling Metro.co.uk that finishing it as Devi graduated from high school was the perfect close.
‘I’m a firm believer that when a story is done, it should just be done,’ she explained.

‘You know, it’s never like, extend it just for the sake of extending it.’
She added that the only thing that could come after Devi’s high school journey would be for her to go to college, adding: ‘Oh, geez. Good luck, Devi. Don’t open a whole can of worms.
‘It would have to be another four seasons of those shenanigans, you know.’
The actress then joked that if she ‘started cracking open experiences in college years’, it would be a ‘big mess’.
