Netanyahu set for comeback, exit polls say
Israel’s former PM Benjamin Netanyahu is on course for a win in the country’s general election, according to exit polls.
The projections suggest he will win by a slim majority of seats over his opponents led by the current PM Yair Lapid.
Netanyahu is right-wing whilst the current PM is centre-left.
It would be a stunning comeback for Netanyahu – who was booted from office last year after 12 years in power.
This election was widely seen as a vote for or against his return and exit polls suggest his right-wing block will have 61 or 62 seats in the 120-seat parliament.
