Oh Mischief (Jam Press)
This is Mischief, the sweet if unruly cat who disappeared for more than three years, leaving her poor owner Bea Mumbray thinking she’d never see her again.
Bea, 27, did everything she could to try and find the microchipped moggy, issuing appeals for help, but it was to no avail.
It was years before Bea, a leisure centre manager and swimming teacher, finally got a call from someone who’d found her mischievous pet.
At first, the thought she was being pranked, but it really was the now-six-year-old Mischief, who’d been found sitting on a doorstep in Strood, Kent.
Bea said: ‘She is my baby, and I’ve missed her terribly.’
The person whose doorstep Mischief was found on, Sue Kast, took her in and posted on Facebook on May 10: ‘Has anyone lost this little sweetheart?

‘Think she is female, no obvious dangly bits.
‘Turned up about two weeks ago. Very, very friendly.’
Natasha McPhee, who runs the organisation Animals Lost and Found, checked Mischief over and found her to be in good health, if a bit underweight.
Natasha was able to contact Bea, who lives a whopping 25 miles (a 45-minute drive) away in Beckenham, south-east London, thanks to Mischief’s microchip.

In their phone call, Natasha said: ‘Well she is alive.’
Shocked Bea replied: ‘Oh my God, bless her.’
She was finally able to be reunited with her long-lost cat on Monday May 15, after having last seen her on January 22, 2020.
Bea said: ‘I honestly didn’t believe her at first, but then Natasha sent me a photo and I knew it was Mischief.
‘I have absolutely no idea where she’s been for three years, it’s a complete mystery.
‘But apart from being a little bit underweight, she’s absolutely fine.
‘I am totally overwhelmed and can’t thank people enough.
‘I didn’t think I would ever see Mischief again, so this is just amazing.’
