Joel Dommett will once again be fronting the National TV Awards
It’s that time of year again, when TV stars from across the nation will be walking the red carpet at the National Television Awards 2022 in the hope of taking home one of the coveted statues.
The ceremony is finally taking place after being delayed from its original September 15 date in the wake of the Queen’s death – with the awards themselves having moved to the autumn last year from their previous January slot due to the pandemic.
Taking place at The OVO Wembley Arena in London, celebrities including Graham Norton, Alison Hammond, Cillian Murphy and Rose Ayling-Ellis will find out if they’ve won their respected accolades, which are voted for by the public.
One pair who will be absent this year is Ant and Dec – who are once again in line for the TV presenter award they’ve won for the past 20 years – with both of them set to miss the glitzy gathering after falling ill with Covid.
This year they will battle it out against Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, and Graham Norton for the coveted prize – while they’ll also go up against RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Masked Singer and Strictly Come Dancing in the talent show category.
It’s going to be a night to remember – but what time does it all kick off, and how can you tune in?
Here’s what you need to know…
What time is the National Television Awards 2022?
The National Television Awards 2022 kicks off on ITV tonight at 8pm.
The show is set to run for two and a half hours – although given it’s a live show there’s always the possibility it could be longer – ahead of the ITV News at 10.30pm.
If you miss it you’ll be able to catch up with it later on the ITV Hub.
The full list of nominations for the starry event was unveiled in August and will see Netflix’s Heartstopper, This Is Going To Hurt, Time, and Trigger Point fight for the new drama gong.

Among the nominees is Tom Parker who has been posthumously shortlisted for Inside My Head, a documentary about the charity concert he organised six months before his death aged 33 in aid of cancer research.
This ceremony was originally due to take place on September 15 from Wembley’s OVO Arena but was delayed following the Queen’s death.
A statement shared on the awards show’s previously said: ‘We have taken the decision to postpone this year’s National Television Awards as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
‘The 2022 NTAs will now take place on Thursday, 13th October, live from The OVO Arena Wembley.’
Who is hosting the National Television Awards 2022?
The ceremony will once again be fronted by Joel Dommett, who took over from previous presenter Dermot O’Leary in 2021.
Sharing his excitement over his return, The Masked Singer frontman said: ‘I’m so happy to have been asked back.
‘There’s already been some terrific TV this year, so I can’t wait to see which shows the viewers pick as their winners.
‘Plus, I’ve always wanted to shout the immortal words “Hello, Wembley!”‘ he joked.
