Nashville shooter sent a former classmate messages moments before attack
The Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale reportedly messaged former classmate Averianna Patton before carrying out the shooting that killed 6.
Patton received a message on Instagram from Hale on Monday morning, expressing feelings of depression and desperation and told Patton something tragic was going to happen and that she would be on the news later.
Concerned, Patton immediately called the local sheriff’s office, believing it was a mental health issue.
However, within minutes, Hale attacked The Covenant School, killing three nine-year-old pupils and three staff members.
Police later reviewed the messages sent to Patton and confirmed they were from Hale.
Patton, who is a local TV personality and influencer, knew Hale from their time on the same middle school basketball team.
Although they had lost touch over the years, Hale had attended some of Patton’s events in the city.
Patton expressed shock and sadness over the tragedy and is still trying to comprehend the situation. She, like many others, is questioning why this happened and hoping for solutions to prevent such incidents in the future.
