Nan forced to sell Diana memorabilia to cover gas bill as Tories cut Universal Credit
The Daily Mirror says a grandmother is being forced to sell her treasured Princess Diana memorabilia just to pay the bills thanks to the Tories’ cut to Universal Credit.
Sharon Shachar, 62, said she will not be able to afford heating when the £20-a-week Universal Credit uplift is scrapped.
The former hospital receptionist is now selling her belongings on Facebook Marketplace so she has some money for the winter.
The items include a Princess Diana wedding plate and other royal memorabilia, which she hoped to pass on to her grandchildren.
