Chilling footage reveals how a murderer blew off steam after fatally attacking a man by buying himself a beer with his victim’s money.
Paul Warren, 25, pounced on 54-year-old Martin Brown after following him as he walked a trolley full of groceries home in Swindon on January 27 last.
He repeatedly punched the grandfather-of-three until he handed over his wallet and told him the PIN code for his bank card.
Martin, who previously served in the police and the army, tried to stumble home but soon collapsed in the street.
He lay there for several hours overnight before an off-duty paramedic spotted him on the way to work the following morning.
The paramedic put Martin in his car and rushed him to hospital, where he died from his injuries a few days later.
Immediately after the robbery, Warren headed to a local pub and used the card to buy a bottle of beer.

CCTV footage shows him barreling past punters and a live band with the bottle in hand as he appears to go outside.
Warren was initially charged with robbery, pleading guilty, before a further charge of murder was added after Martin’s death.
He was sentenced on Friday to life with a minimum of 20 years after pleading guilty to murder, and will serve a four-year term for robbery concurrently.
Martin’s sister Gail said her brother’s murder changed his distraught family ‘forever’.

In a victim impact statement, she said: ‘Martin was a good man, very popular with lots of friends and always the joker. He was proud of his children and loved his grandchildren, often sending me pictures of them. He had lots to live for, but he was taken from us too soon.
‘The thought of Martin being attacked and lying out on the cold all night is unbearable. He really didn’t deserve this to happen to him.
‘What happened to Martin has made me more nervous of my surroundings when I am out and who is around, because Martin was just walking along that day, minding his own business.’
