MP Julian Knight faces fresh misconduct allegations, BBC is told
Four women have made allegations of inappropriate comments and behaviour against MP Julian Knight to parliamentary authorities after the police dropped their investigation into him, according to the BBC.
In addition, five women reportedly raised sexual misconduct allegations against Knight to the police. Knight, MP for Solihull, has denied any wrongdoing and has previously stated that only a “single” and “baseless” complaint was made against him to the police.
However, the fresh allegations mean that nine women have now made misconduct allegations against him, ranging from inappropriate comments to sexual assault. The allegations date back to the period he has served as an MP, including during his tenure as chairman of the Commons culture committee.
Knight will sit as an independent MP until the next general election but has relinquished his position as chair of the culture committee.
