More than 100 channel migrant children missing from UK hotels
There are more than 100 child migrants who have gone missing after disappearing from UK hotels over a 14-month period, data reveals.
The BBC says they discovered that 116 unaccompanied children disappeared between July 2021 and August 2022, after being put in hotels by the Home Office.
The Home Office has said it has no other options for temporary housing other than using hotels.
Charities fear the missing kids, some as young as 11, are at risk of being exploited.
The Home Office has been placing children in approved hotels, after they arrive in the UK, since July last year, after local councils said there was not enough capacity to house them in suitable accommodation.
