Molly-Mae Hague and boyfriend Tommy Fury have finally got round to putting up their Christmas tree ahead of the big day later this week, with the star cheerfully dubbing it ‘a mess’.
The Love Island couple, who met on their season of the show in 2019 and finished runners-up, are expecting their first baby together in the new year.
With plenty of other things demanding their attention, including Tommy’s busy boxing career, illness and a surprise staycation, it took them until a little later in the festive season to get their tree bought and decorated this year.
Influencer and PrettyLittleThing creative director Molly-Mae took to Instagram on Saturday night to reveal a clip of her and Tommy, also 23, struggling to get the real fir tree into its holder.
She tried to direct her partner to the right place as he struggled with the tree, laughing along and writing in the caption: ‘Count me out’ with a string of laugh-crying emoji.
In the next Story, she shared a lapse of them adding the strings of tree lights before coming back later to start adding tinsel in silver and gold and individual tree ornaments.

‘Here we go…’ she posted.
Moving on from pink and white baubles of varying shades and levels of sparklines, Molly-Mae and Tommy then started adding statement decorations, including a ring donut, a giant white bow, a lollipop, a box of popcorn, candy canes and a stocking.
Tommy finished off by adding a white star to the top.
‘Our mish mash tree,’ said Molly-mae, also posting emoji of a cupcake, donut, unicorn and snowflake to represent the whimsical nature of their decorations.

Finally, the couple added in a series of cute family ornaments, with Santa head and hat hanging ornaments for Molly, Tommy and ‘special daughter’, ahead of her arrival in 2023.
‘Finishing touches,’ the TV star wrote, ahead of showing the chocka tree from a different angle in another photo and sharing: ‘It’s a mess but we like it.’
Other celebrities getting in the Christmas spirit with their trees include Richard E Grant, who joked that his extravagant offering was a ‘minimalist’ tree.

The Oscar nominee put up his first tree without his late wife Joan Washington this year with their daughter, Olivia.
Washington died from cancer in September 2021, and Richard used his clip of the tree to share solidarity with others who were also grieving loved ones.

He said: ‘To everyone who’s lost someone and going through their first Christmas tree going up, I wish you all the courage that it takes. While it’s sad, it’s also incredibly life-enhancing and memory-charged.‘
‘Enjoy yours,’ he urged.
