Missing Titanic sub live updates: Time running out as more specialist equipment arrives
The missing Titan – a sub that was attempting to take 5 people to the wreck of the Titanic on the Ocean floor, has yet to be located.
The sub lost contact on Sunday during its trip to the Titanic wreck, it’s widely believed the Titan is likely trapped amongst the wreckage.
An international rescue mission is underway, with aircrafts and ships as well as remotely operated vehicles, combing around 10,000 sq miles of ocean.
Noises have been heard in the search but experts are having trouble figuring out what the “banging sounds” are – the wreckage of the Titanic is a heaping pile of metal that is often making noises. It could also be the crew of the Titan hitting the metal tube they are concealed in.
The missing crew may only have a few hours of oxygen left, based on estimates of the Titan submersible’s initial supply.
