Michael Weatherly has whipped NCIS fans up into a total frenzy after he teased a possible return to our screens.
The actor played Agent Anthony DiNozzo for more than a decade, and his onscreen partnership with Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) was a highlight for many watching on from home, with the pair dubbed ‘Tiva’.
He left viewers reeling when he left the police drama as Tony in season 13, but suggested that could possibly change in the coming months.
Taking to Twitter, the 54-year-old shared a message with fans, wishing them a positive 2023.
‘Happy New Year! It’s time to look at time and enjoy the moment,’ he penned – but it was his reply to a fan that raised eyebrows across the NCIS fandom.
‘We all would rather look at you and Ziva reuniting and enjoying that moment,’ a follower replied.
Quoting the post in question, Michael said: ‘Stay tuned… for this might be an interesting year for such “moments”!’
Although he didn’t offer up any further information, Twitter users were living for his response and begged the star not to play with their emotions.
‘This would honestly be incredible!!! I greatly enjoyed your character and character growth throughout the years,’ a fan penned. ‘I am glad that you were able to lead a show – and did an incredible job.’
One cheered: ‘Yes pleaseeeeee!!!!!!’

A follower begged: ‘Don’t mess with me, one of my new year’s resolutions was to stay calm & be more peaceful!’
‘What? WHAT!!! WHAAAAAATTTT!!!!!!?????? Don’t tease dude. Please,’ another yelled.
As a commenter added: ‘TIVA REUNION 2023 I KNOW THATS RIGHT!!!’
Michael first graced our screens as Tony in 2003, becoming a firm hit with NCIS viewers before he eventually left in 2016.

Tony left in mysterious circumstances, as he was informed that Ziva – who he enjoyed a long friendship and budding romance with – had died.
He was then introduced to a secret daughter that he shared with her, Tali, but seemed to hint that she was alive when he departed for Paris.
Ziva then made a shock return in season 17, when it was revealed that she hadn’t died – but had instead been on the run.
Fingers crossed that 2023 brings us a Ziva reunion very soon.
