Thousands of services are being “axed in secret” by rail firms – despite them having sold tickets for the routes, Metro reports.
The paper calls it a “ghost train” ticket scandal saying the rail firms are using loopholes to axe thousands of services without officially recording them. It says the Office of Road and Rail has admitted 314,000 services were dropped in the year to 15 October.
The front page leaves room to comment on Harry and Meghan and the latest trailer, saying “oh no here we go again.” The Metro – usually strikes a fairly neutral tone on the royals – asks if the latest trailer is really just “fake news.”
