A damning new report commissioned in the wake of the murder of Sarah Everard’s murder warns that it shouldn’t be ‘our job as the public to keep ourselves safe from the police’.
The force is accused of failing to protect women from abusive officers, while organisational changes are said to have put women and children at greater risk.
Violence against women and girls has not been taken as seriously as other forms of violence, the 363-page review says.
