Mel Giedroyc made a brutal joke about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s car chase on Have I Got News For You.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were involved in a ‘near catastrophic’ chase by paparazzi in New York on Tuesday night, which was said to last over two hours.
The former Royal couple’s spokesperson said that the incident resulted in ‘multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers.’
The NYPD there were ‘numerous’ photographers who followed Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, making their transport ‘challenging.’
They added: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.’
Several celebrities have shared their thought about the chase, including, predictably Piers Morgan, with the latest being former Great British Bake Off presenter Mel, 54.

Mel, fresh from stealing the show at Eurovision with her seductive milk churning, hosted Friday’s HIGNFY, alongside regular team captains Ian Hislop, 62, and Paul Merton, 65.
While discussing the UK’s biggest headlines, Harry and Meghan’s chase came up, with Ian diving straight in.
He said: ‘Well, it’s much contested. One version was it was a catastrophic car chase through New York at immense high speed at which nearly everybody in the city died.

‘And there’s another version coming from the mayor and the policeman saying, “Yeah, well, you know, they were chasing them a bit, but it’s all right. And everyone’s fine.”
‘You’re right, though Ian,’ Mel began. ‘Because according to their spokesperson, while traveling back from an award ceremony in New York, the Prince, Megan and her mom were followed by Papparrazzi which led to a near catastrophic car chase
And then she delivered the savage gag: ‘It being near catastrophic because without their statement the press nearly didn’t pick up on it.’
Tuesday night had been Harry and Meghan’s first public appearance together since the duchess’s absence from the King’s coronation earlier this month.
