Rejoice, for many of us get a day off today as a substitute New Year’s Day bank holiday.
And what better way to enjoy the time off – or to brighten your day if you’re stuck at work – than to pick up a delicious McMuffin for breakfast or a tasty Big Mac or McPlant from McDonald’s for lunch?
Perhaps you’d prefer to treat yourself with a 20 pack of Chicken McNuggets – or enjoy a classic coffee and an on-the-go hot Apple Pie?
Whatever your order, you might be wondering if it’s even possible to stop for a Maccy D’s today, given that it’s a bank holiday.
Luckily, many of these fast food restaurants will be open – but when will their doors fling open and slam shut?
Here’s how to find out.
When is McDonald’s open today on bank holiday Monday?

Across the UK, McDonald’s opening hours vary quite a lot from branch to branch.
Your best bet for finding your nearest McD’s opening hours this bank holiday is by using the McDonald’s store locator.
If it’s a smaller branch, you might want to assume shorter opening hours.
However, many restaurants all over the country will be open for a decent length of time, if not resuming their usual opening hours – with some staying open for 24 hours a day.
For example: the Manchester Arndale Centre McDonald’s will be open from 9am to 7pm on January 2.

Meanwhile branches on Newcastle-upon-Tyne’s Grainger Street, Cardiff’s Queen Street and Belfast’s Boucher Road resume 24 hour service after operating slightly reduced hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Over in London, the branch at 291B Oxford Street opens during its typical Sunday to Thursday hours, from 6am to 11.45pm.
But in Edinburgh, a branch on the famous shopping street Princes Street is open from 5am to 3am – closing an hour later than it typically does on a Monday – says the store locator.
Again, type your postcode into the store locator to get your local Maccy’s correct hours.
