There’s no denying that Maya Jama has become a style icon – and word on the street is she’s now been snapped up by one of the hottest make-up brands.
Maya, 28, is reportedly the new face of Rimmel London, replacing supermodel Kate Moss, 49, whose, ‘Get the London look’ has become synonymous with the beauty brand over the years.
It’s thought that Rimmel bosses are keen to capitalise on Maya’s success after she started wowing viewers as the new host of Love Island, taking over from Laura Whitmore this year.
According to a source, signing Maya to the brand cements her status as the ‘It Girl’ of the moment.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Rimmel is one of the biggest brands in beauty with a very British core, so pinpointing Maya to be their figurehead shows she’s very much the It Girl of the moment.
‘They needed a big name to take over from Kate, who had already stepped back from the role.

‘Rimmel believes Maya ticks that box — plus they hope she can also appeal to a younger and more diverse audience.’
The source added that ‘a backlash is expected, given Maya is nearly half Kate’s age,’ but the company are ‘happy with their decision.’
‘It’s a dream come true for Maya.’
The newspaper also claims that Maya shot her first campaign for Rimmel this week, filling Kate’s shoes after she first appeared in an ad for the brand in 2005.

Now, Maya is no stranger to the beauty industry, as the former Radio 1 DJ already has her own skincare brand, Mij Masks.
She’s also worked with clothing brands such as PrettyLittleThing, Adidas, and make-up giant Maybelline.
She’ll have surely soaked up a lot of tips and tricks as the host of BBC Three’s Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star too, having worked with make-up and beauty experts Val Garland and Dominic Skinner.
But, it has been revealed that Maya has quit her role presenting the show following her mega success on Winter Love Island, with viewers well and truly taking her to their hearts.

An insider said that Maya ‘loved her time hosting Glow Up for the last two series’, but she’s now decided ‘not to return for another run.’
‘It was a really difficult decision but she’s going to be really busy doing two series of Love Island this year, and couldn’t make it work,’ they said.

‘She’s also gone down such a storm on Love Island that demand for her has gone through the roof and her diary outside of filming the show is absolutely jam-packed.’
The insider said BBC were ‘gutted to lose her’, but Leomie Anderson has since been confirmed as her replacement.
Reps for Maya Jama have been contacted for comment.
