Maya Jama will be delivering news to the islanders in a matter of days (Picture: Rex Features)
Our Love Island favourites had better brace themselves as Maya Jama will be jetting off to the South African sun to see them later this week – and while it’s always a pleasure to see her, it can only mean one thing.Â
The villa is on the verge of exploding as the islanders gradually learn about Tom Clare and Ellie Spence’s secret kiss that happened on Sunday night.Â
It then all started to kick off in Monday’s episode with Ellie confiding in Will Young about the smooch, leading to him telling Tanya who in turn told Tom’s ex Zara Lackeny-Brown.Â
Caught your breath yet? Zara then stormed up to the terrace ready to tell Tom’s other love interest – and her rival – Olivia about what he was getting up to with Ellie. The episode ended on this exciting cliffhanger so viewers will see the fallout tomorrow.Â
However, that might not be the only drama we’ll be treated to as presenter Maya, 28, has announced she’ll be returning to South Africa in a matter of days.Â
In her latest Instagram post featuring backstage photos from Love Island: Aftersun, the host wrote: ‘Episode 2 of aftersun last night🖤 can not wait to be back in South Africa this week.’Â

Maya hasn’t been in the villa since early on in the series and she typically only makes an appearance for recouplings and dumpings – so those islanders still flip-flopping and turning their heads might want to knuckle down and make firm decisions sharpish.Â
Viewers have been loving Maya as the new host of the ITV2 dating series, with her replacing former presenter Laura Whitmore for the winter series.Â
She’s been hosting Aftersun each Sunday and wowing audiences with her striking outfits, bubbly personality and stunning looks.Â

Just a week after the new series debuted, it was reported that Maya has already received 50% more airtime than her predecessor.Â
After four episodes, the former BBC Radio 1 star was featured for 19 minutes and 55 seconds, while by the same episode last season Laura, 37, had clocked up 13 minutes and 26 seconds, according to the Daily Mail.Â
It was something fans also picked up on earlier in the week, with many posting about it on social media.
‘Maya has been in the villa more times than Laura did the whole season already,’ one person wrote on Twitter.
‘Not Maya making more appearances in one episode than Laura did all last season lol,’ another added.
Well, we can’t wait to see what news Maya will deliver the villa later this week.Â
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2.
