Matthew Perry cause of death inconclusive pending toxicology tests
The cause of US actor Matthew Perry’s death is unknown and has been “deferred” pending further investigation.
Perry was reportedly found dead in a hot tub at his house on Saturday, according to US media.
His post-mortem examination was inconclusive, while officials await the results of toxicology tests.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, according to an LA police spokesperson.
The LA County Medical Examiner’s office updated their file on Sunday to say the case had been deferred.
It usually means that the post-mortem is complete but more detail is needed.
Perry, 54, was best known for playing Chandler Bing in the hit US show Friends. The sitcom ran from 1994 until 2004 and is still widely watched today.
