Matt Hancock announced on Wednesday that he will be stepping down as an MP and not running in the next election, but now, he’s tipped to host Good Morning Britain.
The former Health Secretary said he will be leaving a front line place in politics after coming third on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and ahead of his stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The MP, who was found to be breaking his own Covid guidance by having an affair with Gina Coladangelo and had the Conservative whip removed from him when he went into the jungle for a reality show, said it has been an ‘honour’ to serve his constituents in West Suffolk over the past 12 years.
But now, it seems he could be fronting Good Morning Britain as his next venture.
Odds of Hancock appearing on the ITV chat show alongside the likes of Susanna Reid stand at 2/1, according to William Hill.
Meanwhile, the odds of him appearing on Question Time are evens, and Hancock is 8/1 to take a place in the 2023 Great Celebrity Bake Off, 16/1 for an appearance on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing and 500/1 to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

William Hill’s spokesperson, Lee Phelps said: ‘Preparing to step down from Parliament at the next General Election, if not before, Matt Hancock could look to branch further into TV.
‘Becoming the host of Good Morning Britain is a fancied step for the MP in 2023 at just 2/1, while an appearance on Question Time for the ex-Health Secretary is tipped at Evens.
‘Hancock showed he’s not shy of the Celebrity TV life in the jungle last month, so appearances on the Celebrity Bake Off, 8/1, and even Strictly, 16/1, could be on the agenda for 2023.’

He’s also tipped to appear on Dancing On Ice 2023 at 20/1, next year’s The Masked Singer or The Masked Dancer as 50/1, and Celebrity Master Chef at 8/1.
While it may be looking like he could take a seat on GMB, viewers haven’t forgotten the bizarre interview he gave two years ago where he burst into tears, which he’s since addressed in his book, The Pandemic Diaries.
The former health secretary appeared on the ITV show two years ago, leaving viewers confused and some questioning whether he was faking tears as he spoke about the pandemic.

Hancock claimed he ‘lost it’ and burst into tears – but watching back the clip, Susanna, Rob Rinder, and the rest of the panel weren’t so convinced.
‘This was odd, this was during our interview on Good Morning Britain back in 2020,’ Susanna explained, before the clip played, while Rob insisted: ‘There were no parts of my body left to cringe with’.

‘I thought he was laughing,’ Susanna explained. ‘At the time, I thought he was laughing. But of course, he was apparently crying. He’s now explained it in his diaries.’
Summing up an excerpt from the diaries, Susanna said that Hancock recalled ‘losing it altogether’ and that he was ‘blubbing away, battling to regain my composure as tears streamed down my face’.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
