I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! campmate Matt Hancock says he’s in shock to still be in the jungle but is ‘grateful’.
This season has thrown up more than a few surprises, but Hancock sticking it out must be up there with one of the biggest.
Despite the series being met with backlash when it was announced that the disgraced MP had been cast as a campmate, he’s managed to make it through so far.
With six others being eliminated already, including Boy George and Babatunde Aleshe, Hancock himself seems to be surprised that he’s not been sent packing.
On Wednesday night’s episode Radio DJ Chris Moyles was the latest to be kicked out of the jungle, and when discussing his exit in the aftermath, Hancock opened up.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph he said: ‘We’re so near the end and I’m delighted to be still here’.

‘I never thought I’d make it to the final five and here I am, so I’m very grateful.’
While Seann Walsh also said he ‘cannot believe’ he hasn’t been booted out, it’s understandable why Hancock would be genuinely confused after he copped significant criticism for signing up.
When chatting to Ant and Dec after leaving the jungle last night, Chris also joked that he was upset the Hancock was more popular with the public.

‘I’m gutted that Matt Hancock is more popular than me. What the bejeezus is going on?’, he asked in his exit interview.
As he added when speaking to Lorraine Kelly this morning, Chris said he didn’t agree with a sitting MP being part of the reality series, but that Hancock had clearly been eager to please.

However he still couldn’t understand how he had got so far into the competition.
‘This is blowing my mind, Lorraine and I know it’s probably blowing the mind of 50% of the UK but clearly 50% of the UK are being hugely entertained by him,’ he said.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow on ITV.
