Martha’s (Stephanie Beacham) dramatic return to Coronation Street causes a stir in rehearsals for the AmDram play, as she attempts to take Mary (Patti Clare) through some breathing exercises.
There is also clear tension between her and old flame Ken (William Roache), as Mary and Brian (Peter Gunn) try to decipher how the pair know each other.
Meanwhile, Martha makes it very clear that she is simply there to assist with getting the play back on its feet.

The tension only continues as Martha begins her role assisting Nigel.
She encourages Mary to try some breathing exercises in order to help project her voice, teaching her to breathe through the diaphragm instead of the lungs.
Mary finds this new way of breathing fascinating, as she embraces Martha’s advice.
