Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has congratulated Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on reaching 1000 games as a manager.
Klopp celebrated the remarkable milestone on Saturday when Liverpool hosted Chelsea in the Premier League.
The former Mainz and Dortmund boss is considered one of the best managers of his generation, enjoying great success both in his native Germany and in England with the Reds.
Among his accolades are three league titles, three domestic cups and the 2019 Champions League.
‘I’m delighted to welcome Jurgen Klopp to the LMA [League Managers Association] 1,000 club,’ Ferguson, who took charge of 2155 games in his legendary career, said.
‘He is undoubtedly one of the most gifted managers in world football. The many trophies he won confirm his status amongst football’s elite.
‘The dedication and passion that Jurgen brings to the role are inspiring to anyone aspiring to a career in football management.’

Klopp began his managerial career back in 2001 with Mainz, before joining Dortmund in 2008 where he would gain international recognition.
He moved to Anfield in 2015 and is now widely considered to be one of, if perhaps not the greatest manager in Liverpool’s history.
‘That time [when he started as Mainz manager] I didn’t know if I would have a second game to be honest!’ Klopp told BT Sport.
‘It’s a big number, I look like I have 1,000 games but I have done it in 22 years and it was pretty quick so here we are.
‘My motivation is no problem. I have enough energy for another 10 years if you want. I know where we are going from. Pep [Guardiola] said earlier about being happy flower team and we knew it.’
