When Herbert Xia needed to run some errands in Sydney, Australia he didn’t think twice about leaving his car on a nearby residential street.
He parked the vehicle – a rental no less – for just 15 minutes before returning to its side.
Herbert was shocked to discover that a giant sofa now adorned his windshield, seemingly having appeared out of nowhere.
His Toyota Yaris was left badly damaged in the bizarre incident.
Police are investigating and have suggested the sofa may have been hurled from a nearby balcony during a party.
Herbert, who had left the car in the Ultimo district of Sydney, told 9News: ‘It’s just bizarre, if I was trying to put a ticket onto my car at that moment I could end up at hospital.
‘I have no words for this incident, feel very lucky.’
The sofa reportedly plummeted through some nearby trees on its path to Herbert’s car.

Pictures show the car completely smashed with the sofa still on top of it, with leaves scattered over the bonnet.
Herbert’s car had been left on Jones Street in Ultimo at 7.30pm on Thursday.
The region’s police chief inspector, Gary Coffey, said: ‘The couch was thrown from a significant height, it happened as people were coming home from work.’
