A man has been charged with murder after a pub death on Black Eye Friday.
The victim of a suspected assault was found with unsurvivable injuries in the Lamb and Lion, Westcliff-on-Sea.
It happened on what was expected to be one of the busiest nights of the year for nightlife businesses, the final Friday before Christmas.
Detectives have previously said the bar was busy at the time and appealed for drinkers to come forward.
Now a man has been charged with murder, Essex Police said.
Alfred Turner, 44, of Station Road, Westcliff, was arrested in the Pier Hill area a short time after the alleged attack.
