A man has been banned from a Morrisons store after issuing a poo-based threat to staff.
Gary Charles Talbot, 43, confronted a check-out worker as he attempted to buy alcohol on October 29, 2022.
He was asked to leave the Morrisons store, in Littlemoor Shopping Centre in Weymouth, as a result of the exchange.
At the height of the argument, Talbot had told staff his girlfriend would defecate in the supermarket.
The Dorset Echo reported from court: ’When at the checkout he referred to the shop worker by name and said “you’ve really p***ed me off”.
‘A verbal exchange then followed before a customer interjected to ask Talbot to stop shouting.
‘Victoria Hill, prosecuting, said that at one point Talbot told the shop worker his girlfriend would defecate in the store and asked the victim to meet him outside the shop.’
Weymouth Magistrates Court had heard the worker was left fearful of being assaulted following the exchange.
Talbot told the court he had had his ‘buttons pushed’ but had admitted he was at fault.
The 43-year-old appeared before Weymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to one charge of using threatening or abusive words designed to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.
He was banned from contacting his victim and banned him from entering the Morrisons at the Littlemoor Shopping Centre for the next year.
