A man’s job interview to join his local police department went awry when he took a lie detector test and admitted to possessing child porn.
Sergio Celaya, 25, took a polygraph test in the interview process for a police assistant role for the El Mirage Police Department in Arizona. He confessed that he still had sexual videos of his ex-girlfriend when they were both teenagers.
Celaya also told cops that he frequented a website on which he accessed videos of teenage girls having sex.
In addition, Celaya possessed a flash drive with thousands of pornographic videos and photographs, according to court documents obtained by CBS 5 on Monday. One such video involved children as young as 12 years old.

Celaya saved videos on the flash drive of kids that were 11 to 15 years old, police said. He apparently also sent and received sexual images and videos from children and strangers on Omegle, a free online chat site.
Investigators conducted a search of Celaya’s home and went through his flash drives and laptop. They found four files with porn of kids aged 5 to 15. Additionally, the flash drives held thousands of pictures that detectives are still examining, court documents state.
Celaya used a private network to encrypt his Internet and account on which he stored the material. He did not send the files to others, according to cops.
Instead of being hired, Celaya has been charged with four counts of exploitation of a minor.
‘My detectives acted swiftly once learning of the statements by the suspect,’ stated Police Chief Paul Marzocca on Facebook.
‘There is no place in any community for possessing this type of material or engaging in this type of behavior.’
Celaya told police that he was aware that it is illegal to store child porn and that he intended to delete the files and dispose of the flash drive, the court papers state. But he ended up keeping them.
