A pensioner has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 70s was found unconscious and later died.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Milton Keynes following reports the elderly woman had been attacked yesterday morning.
The woman was taken to hospital after police and paramedics arrived in Bradwell Road shortly after 8am.
She died of her injuries later the same day.
Officers have now arrested a 77-year-old man from the area on suspicion of her murder.
He is being held in custody.
Senior investigating officer DCI Dejan Avramovic, of Thames Valley Police, said: ‘Tragically, following an incident yesterday morning, a woman has died.

‘There will be a scene-watch in place at the location, and if you have any concerns, you can address these with any of our officers at the scene.
‘I appreciate incidents such as this will cause concern in the local community, but I would reassure the public that we are confident that this incident is contained, there is no wider risk to the local community and we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.

‘Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the woman’s next of kin are aware and are receiving support from specially trained family liaison officers and my thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.’
Police are also urging members of the public to contact the force if anybody feels they have any information that may assist the investigation.
