One person has died and several injured after a fire on a cargo ship off the coast of the Netherlands.
The Dutch coastguard said the Fremantle Highway was sailing 17 miles north of the island of Ameland when the fire broke out.
The ship was travelling from Bremerhaven in Germany to Port Said in Egypt with around 3,000 cars on board, Sky News reports.
There were 23 crew members on board when the fire began, but they were all evacuated to the Dutch port of Lauwersoog after failing to put out the fire.
It’s thought the fire started in one of the 25 electric cars on board, a coastguard spokesman said, but this has not yet been confirmed.
