Madonna was seen strolling around New York on Sunday.

Footage shared by journalist Lauren Conlin shows the 64-year-old superstar walking around the Big Apple with a friend in a laid-back look.

The singer teamed navy shorts and a navy t-shirt with oversized sunglasses and a chic floppy hat as she went about her day.

Lauren posted the video towards the end of the weekend and captioned it: ‘Madonna sighting!’

She added: ‘Guess who we saw out and about today looking great.’

Reps for the music icon confirmed she had contracted a ‘serious bacterial infection’ but that she was expected to make a full recovery.

Madonna’s health scare came as she was rehearsing for her Celebration tour to mark the 40th anniversary of her music career, and was due to hit the road in a matter of weeks.

It was previously revealed that the Vogue hitmaker had been released from hospital after a few days and was transported back to her New York home in a private ambulance.

There were initially serious concerns for the star’s health and her family are thought to have been fearing ‘the worst’.

A family friend of the musician revealed how her relatives ‘prepared for the worst’ following the horrific ordeal as ‘everybody believed that they may lose her.’

‘For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,’ they shared.

‘That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation,’ they added to Mail Online.

The start of Madonna’s Celebration tour has now been delayed while the singer recuperates but it’s still unclear on when the shows will go ahead.
