Love Island viewers are desperate to see the end of public apology letters after Montel McKenzie apologised to Leah Taylor in front of the rest of the villa.
In scenes that aired on Monday night, the 25-year-old semi-professional footballer called on his pals so that he could make the grand gesture following the fallout of Movie Night, which saw his fling with Tink Reading exposed.
With the help of Sammy Root, Leah was encouraged to go and sit on the deck while the other islanders gathered together outside.
Montel then took position on the terrace where he proceeded to read a note he had written from his phone saying sorry for his behaviour.
While the big gesture went down well with Leah, who forgave him, viewers at home vented their frustrations on social media.

‘Not the phone letter apology again WHY DO WE NEED TO DO THIS EVERY YEAR,’ blasted one.
‘Is it a tradition to be doing these apology letters on Love Island every year?’ another demanded. ‘I need to start sleeping through these.’
A third slammed: ‘Every year I’m forced to sit thru one of these STUPID apology letters.’
Love Island viewers watched a similar apology play out in February when farmer Will Young called upon the fellow contestants to help him say sorry to Jessie Wynter following Casa Amor.
During the episode, he gave each islander a line to tell Jessie so that he could make his feelings clear.

Bringing her onto the terrace, Will said at the time: ‘Jessie, I think we’ve done a lot of talking and I just want to show you how I feel.’
The fellow islanders then recounted Will’s gushy lines, including ‘I love how safe and secure you make me feel’ and ‘I love how kind and pure you are’.
Love Island continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2.
