Zanab Jaffrey had a brutal message for Cole Barnett as she rejected him at the altar during the explosive Love Is Blind finale.
The pair had an instant attraction when they met in the pods for the first time, and got engaged sight unseen.
However, cracks began to form when they eventually laid eyes on each other, and the lovebirds had several rocky moments on their journey to their wedding day – including dealing with the groom’s attraction to co-star Colleen Reed, as well as the shocking moment he asked his partner if she is bipolar during an argument.
The couple reunited at their ceremony but it wasn’t quite the happy occasion as Zanab offered Cole, 27, some home truths on the time they had spent together,
‘I fell in love with you because of how warm you made me feel, and how much hope I had when I talked to you,’ the 32-year-old began. ‘I fell in love with you because of the way you talk about your relationship with God, about how you talk about your friends and your family.
‘You are not a hard man to fall in love with, and I did completely fall in love with you. Sight unseen.’

When it came to deciding whether they would spend the rest of their lives together, she made a shock announcement in front of their gathered wedding guests.
‘Cole, you have taught me so much about myself in the last two months,’ the bride continued. ‘You’ve shared so much of who you are and I am so thankful for that. I think I have a really good idea about the type of woman that is going to love you the way that Cole needs to be loved every day for the rest of your life. I think you and I both know that that is not me.
‘As much as I have wanted it to be me and have tried to manipulate myself to be that person for you, the last two months have not been picture-perfect. You have disrespected me, you have insulted me, you have critiqued me, and for what it is worth, you have single-handedly shattered my self-confidence.

‘I hate that you have that kind of effect on me. And the messed up thing is I know love you but everything in me and the logical part of my brain tells me that love shouldn’t feel this way. Love shouldn’t hurt like this. I can’t marry you. You are a good man and I know that about you. I wish I could’ve had more of that. I really do.’
With that, Zanab walked out of the room, leaving a tearful Cole to deal with the stunned silence in the room.
‘Why has she never said that to my face? She chose now because she knew it would hurt more in front of all my friends and family,’ he told the camera.
‘This whole time, I’ve been talking about how mature, respectful and loyal Zay is. She had me fooled big time. I knew we were not perfect but that? It’s one of the worst experiences of my life.’
Reflecting on the emotional ceremony, Zanab insisted that she stood by everything that she said at the altar.
‘Cole was my person. Cole was the only person in that experiment for me, so I am glad I chose him. I’m glad he taught me what he did, and I’m glad I got to see who he really is,’ she told People Magazine. ‘I stand by everything I said

‘We do not speak. We didn’t really leave a friendship or a mutual respect, I think, for each other to have. So there isn’t communication between the two of us.’
‘I didn’t know what to think, and that’s why we didn’t talk for a long time afterwards is because I didn’t know how I was ever going to process that,’ Cole added to the publication.
‘I didn’t want to talk to her because I felt betrayed, and I felt like she had really duped me and brought me to that moment to do that to me… I wish we could do it over and have more conversations beforehand.’
Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix now.
