After a year of horrific health struggles, Louise Thompson is ready to ‘kiss goodbye’ to 2022.
The former Made In Chelsea star previously revealed she almost died after suffering ‘serious complications’ in the delivery room following the birth of her one-year-old son, Leo, and has spent much of the year bravely documenting her battle with post-traumatic stress disorder and post-natal anxiety.
She has also been in and out of hospital dealing with the physical impacts alongside the mental, previously sharing she also went ‘partially deaf’ during her ordeal.
And in sharing a blurry snapshot of herself with her son on the weekend, Louise said it represented the year for her.
After spending New Year’s Eve with family before being ‘tucked up in bed’ by 9pm, Louise noted she had written a ‘reflective poem’ to post as the year drew to a close, but ‘haven’t felt brave enough to share it’, adding she was simply sharing ‘a big fat kiss goodbye to the worst year of my life.’
The 32-year-old wrote: ‘I’m sure a lot of you will have something to say about that sentiment, but I’ve gone ahead and said it anyway. I can’t lie. Obviously connecting with my beautiful son and laughing with him has provided me with a joy like no other (and also in a weird contradictory way made it the best year of my life).
‘There’s no doubt that the joy has been amplified by the extreme suffering at the other end of the spectrum. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that there has been a hell of a lot of suffering. I’d like to say goodbye to all the suffering. I think I’m ready to say goodbye.’
Louise went on to say she’s going to ‘finally try some proper trauma therapy’ following her health ordeal, despite trying it earlier and finding she ‘totally lost control of my mind’.
But, she went on to add, she’s ‘better equipped to handle things now’.
She said: ‘I have a bit of a routine and some safe structures around me. Plus worst case scenario I just check myself in somewhere to get help (kind of mad that this hasn’t already happened). I guess because I yoyo from feeling good to chronically bad to good again I never quite get around to it. Plus I’m too scared. I don’t want to use up all my resources and be left with nothing else to try. Oh and of course I have to put the needs of someone else first now ☺️ and I can’t bare any more time spent without my little fuzzy.’
The TV personality said she wants to ‘live a more muted experience of the world’ with ‘less wild ups and downs’.

‘More cruising and a bit more relaxing,’ she said. ‘I’m not that happy with this current paradigm so I’m going to keep making changes. I’m not going to give up trying. I have tried a lot, but there is still more to try.
‘To anyone else out there that has had a tricky one, I wish you all the luck for this new one 🍀 and remember you are not alone. It’s certainly not all rainbows and butterflies. Life can be a cruel bitch, but you’ve just got to keep your chin high and keep marching forward into the unknown.
‘You never know this might be the year you win the jackpot biggggg. I see each new day as a new start (I kind of think you have to when you have young kids) so there are lots opportunities for fresh starts and for change, but everyone is so obsessed with the new year signifying new beginnings, so… You might get a promotion, meet your soulmate, have a baby, find peace. Quite frankly ANYTHING is possible.’
Louise recently revealed she’d been diagnosed with lupus, holding back tears as she confirmed blood tests had come back positive for the condition.
