Loose Women became the Loose Witches for a Halloween special of the ITV daytime show and Nadia Sawalha’s spooky transformation definitely meets the brief.
The 58-year-old gave her fellow panellists a fright as The Grand High Witch from Roald Dahl’s The Witches.
Nadia started the episode in the same way as the character in the book and films – using a beautiful disguise to blend in with society.
An epic metamorphose was teased throughout the special episode, and as the hour-long programme was drawing to a close a hideous appearance was unmasked.
While stood in front of a cauldron a cloud of green smoke appeared, and once it had vanished the new Nadia was standing there. The witch getup included a bald head, large ears, oversized hands and dark eye makeup.
Hats off to the Loose Women hair and makeup team, who are coming after the Strictly team’s crown!

It wasn’t just the costume and hair/makeup that impressed us – the former EastEnders star put her acting skills to good use in the dramatic unveiling.
Reciting the character, who was played by Anne Hathaway in the 2020 movie, she said: ‘Everywhere I look, I see the repulsive sight of hundreds, thousands of revolting little children.’
The audience, who were all wearing witch’s hats screamed as Olivia Attwood admitted she was scared.

The rest of the panellists got involved in the magic of Halloween with scary outfits (although nobody quite matched Nadia).
New panellist Olivia, 32, found fame on sunny Love Island but made an excellent snow witch which makes us think the winter version should take place in The Alps.
While lead panellist Jane Moore, 61, gave her best Winifred impression – she couldn’t resist calling her co-stars ‘sisters’ just like Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus throughout the spooktacular show.

Finally, Kaye Adams, 60, was the Wicked Witch of the West from Wizard of Oz. She got her own theatrical moment too, when the three other witches doused her in water to conclude the episode.
She shouted ‘I’m melting’ as the credits rolled.
Happy Halloween all! If you’ve not quite got you spooky fix yet then check out how other celebrities are celebrating the holiday here.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
