Liverpool have reignited their interest in Mexico World Cup star Hirving Lozano and are lining up a move for him next summer, according to reports.
The Reds have a long-term interest in the 27-year-old winger, who has also been previously linked with Arsenal as well as Manchester United.
Lozano has spent the last three years at Italian club Napoli, where he has scored 30 goals across 133 games and helped them win the Coppa Italia in 2019-20.
Napoli have enjoyed a blistering start to the 2022-23 season and sit top of Serie A after winning 13 of their 15 games – eight points clear of second-placed AC Milan.
Lozano, who is under contract until June 2024, has featured in 14 of those matches, registering three goals and three assists so far this term.
He has also been busy this winter, representing Mexico at the World Cup in Qatar as they were eliminated from Group C before the knockout stages.
According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are now re-interested in bringing Lozano to Anfield, with Napoli unwilling to renew his contract due to high wage demands.
Lozano has featured against Liverpool twice this season with Napoli placed into Group A of the Champions League alongside Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Italians smashed Liverpool 4-1 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona before the Reds got revenge in the reverse fixture with a 2-0 win, as the Premier League side qualified for the knockouts in second behind Napoli.
Lozano has scored 16 goals across 63 caps for Mexico since making his international debut in 2016.
Prior to joining Napoli in 2019, he spent two years at Dutch side PSV, helping them win the Eredivisie in 2017-18.
Lozano, nicknamed Chucky, started his career in Mexico with Pachuca, lifting the Liga MX title and CONCACAF Champions League trophy.
