Liam Payne had a pretty epic comeback after a troll messaged him to claim his new girlfriend was only with him for his money.
The former One Direction star, 29, made his red carpet debut with Kate Cassidy, 23, at the British Fashion Awards on December 5.
It was their first official public appearance together after whispers of a romance started when they were pictured together on Halloween, dressed as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, before being snapped again on a dinner date.
However, Liam revealed he had been sent cruel messages about their relationship as he decided to hit back at one publicly on Christmas Day.
Screenshotting a DM from a disgruntled fan, who laid claims of gold-digging at Kate’s door, Liam replied on his Story: ‘Gotta say you could tell me anything and I couldn’t be turned, I’ve never felt a love like I do for Katelyn.’
‘We make each other better people,’ he sweetly said.

Getting to the meat of the allegation, he continued: ‘If it was just for the money I’d give her all of it.
‘It’s not though (please remember I’m hella sexy) and I know I’m fun and a loveable person.’
After the tongue-in-cheek comment, he returned to a more serious tone, adding: ‘And I don’t give a f*** to say that for the first time in my life I’m happy to be me and that’s priceless.’
This new romance comes after Liam’s year-long engagement to American model Maya Henry ended in May, and following a short relationship with Aliana Mawla.

The singer – who shares son Bear, five, with ex Cheryl – proposed to his former partner in August 2020 with an engagement ring rumoured to be worth £3million after a year of dating.
Liam, who provided one of 2022’s great mysteries with his bizarre mishmash of accents used in an interview about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, proved that wasn’t a one off ahead of Christmas.
Moving from his Dutch/Irish/American/Italian twang on Good Morning Britain earlier this year, the Strip That Down singer showed off a pretty decent Elvis Presley impression instead.

Filming himself for his Instagram Story, Liam put on his own Southern accent and threw in a few ‘uh-huh-huhs’ – as well as mastering the Presley lip – as he enjoyed a tipsy karaoke night with Kate and pals.
Liam jokingly wrote on his post: ‘I do accents too… it’s that time of night but it is Christmas’.
