Leslie Jordan’s cause of death has been revealed following the actor’s death in October, at the age of 67.
The Call Me Kat star crashed his car into a building in Hollywood, California, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It has now been revealed that he died following ‘sudden cardiac dysfunction’, which occurred while he was behind the wheel.
Sudden cardiac dysfunction happens when there is a malfunction in the electrical system of the heart.
This causes the heart to stop pumping blood around the body and it typically happens without warning.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office and documents from the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner obtained by US media, Jordan’s death was from ‘natural causes.’

The LACCO listed arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as a secondary factor, stating that there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol in Jordan’s system – he had been sober for over two decades when he died.
Documents also state that there was no evidence of life-threatening injuries from the crash.
It’s believed that the much-loved star was actually on his way to the Call Me Kat set when he died, with cast and crew said to have been concerned when he was more than an hour late.
When the devastating news of Jordan’s death was announced, his agent David Shaul released a statement.
‘The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan,’ it read.

‘Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times.
‘What he lacked in height he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner and human being.
‘Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today.’
Tributes have continued to pour in for Jordan, online and on screen, with fans remembering his appearances in shows such as Will & Grace and American Horror Story, to name just two.

The Masked Singer US also paid tribute by airing his final appearance on the show, as well as a social media reel full of his best moments, including the time when he dressed up as a soft serve ice-cream and sung This Little Light of Mine.
At the start of this year, Call Me Kat viewers were left in bits when the show honoured Jordan in an episode.
A regular cast member on the series since its first season, Jordan played Phil, who worked as the head baker at Kat’s (Mayim Bialik) café.
Before he died, Jordan had completed work on nine episodes of the third season.

The tenth episode, titled Call Me Philliam, aired in January and it paid tribute to not only the character, but broke the fourth wall to acknowledge Jordan.
Having to write Phil out of the show, the comedy chose to go with the storyline that he had decided to stay in Tahiti after going on holiday with his partner Jalen (John Griffin), where they’d decided to marry and open a bakery.

The characters all attended celebrations off camera, but later in the episode the cast gathered around a laptop to relive it all, speaking fondly about how much they were going to miss Phil, which clearly felt like they were talking about Jordan too.
A chair with the award-winning actor’s name was then brought out, and the scene closed as a sequinned suit jacket was draped over the top of it.
Fans at home were left in tears after watching the cast give their friend and colleague a ‘happy ending.’
