What’s better than one DualSense controller? Two DualSense controllers (pic: Sony)
An Australian retailer seems to have leaked new PS5 bundles set to release next month, with one potentially costing just over £500.
With stock shortages for the PlayStation 5 supposedly over, Sony will be eager to push the console even harder to anyone who has yet to buy one.
That’s especially true given it’s also launching the PlayStation VR2 headset in February, which it expects will be a hotly demanded item if reports of it producing two million of them by the end of March are true.
Now it’s believed that Sony plans to release a pair of new bundles for the console – one for the standard edition and one for the digital edition – that come with two DualSense controllers instead of just one.
These bundles were spotted on Australian retailer EB Games, but they have since been removed, suggesting that they went up too early.
This being the Internet, someone – in this case Twitter user Zuby_Tech – saved screenshots of the bundles before they were taken down.
The listings also included a potential release date of February 3, roughly two and a half weeks before the PlayStation VR2 launches.
As for the price, Zuby_Tech’s screenshots only highlight how much the standard edition bundle costs – $894.95.
Before you start freaking out about that converting into nearly £740, remember that this is in Australian dollars. So, in the UK, that would instead be roughly £508.
This does still make it roughly £28 more expensive than the original bundle with just one controller, which costs £479.99.
Presumably, then, the digital edition with two controllers will go up from £389.99 to about £418.
That’s still a saving, though, since buying a second DualSense controller on its own directly from Sony costs £59.99.

German website WinFuture, however, claims to have spotted the same bundles at German retailers going from as low as €619 (about £547) to as high as €699 (about £618), depending on the edition.
No one will know for certain until Sony itself shares official prices. If the company is intending to make the bundles available in early February, then there should be a formal announcement in the very near future.
