Le Figaro – Le monde suspendu au choix des Americains
The French newspaper leads with the election and features an image of Americans lining up to vote.
“Rarely have the visions of two presidential candidates been so different. Kamala Harris’s program is diametrically opposed to that of Donald Trump on abortion, climate, design of government … But the Democrat’s refocusing has also led her to curiously move closer to some of her populist rival’s positions on immigration issues or policy towards China … Overall, however, the two candidates have remained vague about their projects, contenting themselves with giving broad directions.”
NOTE: The European front pages went to print before the election results started to come in.
