A popular floating restaurant in Essex appears to be sinking.
Pictures of Miller and Carter’s site, outside the Lakeside Shopping Centre, were shared this morning.
Some locals compared the situation to the restaurant ‘sinking like the Titanic’.
The pictures sparked concerns with those booked to enjoy a Christmas meal there tomorrow.
One tweeted: ‘Looks like my family meal is cancelled!’
Simon Harris, who runs popular parenting blog Man Behaving Dadly, tweeted: ‘Horrible to see this happening to one of my favourite places to eat (Miller and Carter at Lakeside, Essex). Hope everyone got off OK.’
Others saw the funny side of the situation.

Meanwhile, one local shared a photoshopped picture of the sinking restaurant alongside Jack and Rose from the 1997 film Titanic.

‘If you go Miller and Carter anytime soon, don’t forget your wellies’, another Facebook user commented.
Reporters from Essex Live and other local outlets have scrambled to the scene.
Mitchells and Butlers group, who operate the restaurant, restaurant and Lakeside have been approached for comment.
