The Guardian – Labour wants NHS ‘passports’ for all patients despite privacy fears
Wes Streeting will unveil plans for portable medical records giving every NHS patient all their information stored digitally in one place despite fears over breaching privacy and creating a target for hackers, The Guardian reports. Writing for the paper, Streeting seeks to reassure, insisting that all patient data will be “protected and anonymised”.
There’s a large image showing mourners in Gaza as they gather around a row of dead bodies – the latest victims of Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza. The paper notes at least 87 people are dead or missing in the overnight attack which the paper labels a “ferocious renewed assault.”
